First it was the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH 370 that went missing back in March of 2014 and is yet to found. Then it was Malaysia Airlines flight MH 17 that was shot down over Ukraine. Now it is Asia Air, which is based out of Malaysia, flight 8501’s wreckage reportedly found in the ocean near the town of Pangkalan Bun after a fatal trip through an extremely intense storm. Having 162 people on the plane “Malaysia-based Air Asia’s loss comes on top of the still-unsolved disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 in March with 239 people aboard, and the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in July over Ukraine, which killed all 298 passengers and crew”. These flights although very mysterious as well as tragic, have captivated the attention of the average passive newsreader and trendy around the globe. “Have you heard about the missing flight?” or “What do you think happened to the plane?” are commonly voiced during small talk but never anything regarding the elimination of the Bill of Rights. Everyone seems perfectly willing to engage in conversation regarding these flights but no topics that might cause a real discussion about the direction the United States is headed politically, no, no, no. It may sound terrible but the real tragedy is the general public’s apathy to engage in real discussions about real issues that affect themselves, their families and their communities.
