The insanity continues. Longtime California Senator (cough.. cough.. and Tyrant) Barbara Boxer proclaimed to the press “sensible gun laws work, we’ve proven it in California” a day after the San Bernadino, California shooting.
Seriously? She just said that, for real?
So according to a sitting U.S. Senator, California’s strict gun laws have proven to stop mass shootings from happening, while mass shootings are happening in gun free zones within California, specifically, San Bernadino, California!
Does it get any more George Orwell than that? It must be the year 2084. We have some of the most powerful political leaders in the country feeding us a steady diet of double speak.
Let’s compare.
Politicians: “California’s gun laws prove to stop mass shootings and gun violence, we need stricter gun laws in California to stop all these mass shootings and gun violence”
George Orwell: “You were never at war with East Asia, you were always at war with East Asia”
HotAir.com points out that gun violence is pretty much down everywhere across the country, but the only difference is when criminals target gun free zones or states with heavy gun regulation, people are more likely to end up defenseless instead of armed like the people in San Bernadino.
Even if we banned civilian ownership of firearms, this would only increase crime and violence against the innocent and law abiding. Remember, criminals don’t obey laws so if owning a gun is against the law, criminals will be sure to own them.
Look, this is basic, if you make something illegal it becomes lucrative and profitable to those who ignore the prohibition. When you make drugs illegal, you get Mexican drug cartels working with criminal elements of the government power structure and special interests, and when you make guns illegal, you get more Mexican drug cartels working with criminal elements of the government power structure and special interests, only this time you’re defenseless.
