If we truly want equality we simply must end all gender stereotypes and gender reference. We must understand that men and women are no different in order to achieve true equality. To assume or imply that there are genders, implies differences which promotes as well as admits inequality, and is offensive to those who do not identify with a gender, a gender stereotype or even the human species.
Referring to someone or something as a specific gender discriminates against other humans and gives unfair advantages and opportunities to that person that is being regarded as a specific gender.
For example, if someones asks me to take out the trash or lift something heavy because I appear to resemble what some would call a strong male, it implies that I am in some way superior and different from what others would call a female or a weaker male. It stereotypes me as a particular gender with distinct qualities which admits differences of gender and possible superiority to others which is offensive and works against equality. It unnecessarily creates special privileges for certain individuals which works against equality and may offend those not asked to lift something heavy or squash an insect at the office.
Using the words Boy, Girl, Mother, Father, Man, Woman, Mr., Mrs., Sir, Ma’am, and even Sexist and Feminist imply there is a distinct difference of gender which is offensive and counter productive to achieving equality. Using the words Sexist and Feminist implies a gender reference. These words admit a difference between humans and since men and woman are equal, the word should be banned because of it’s offensive nature.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, this article is satire and a weapon in my arsenal against the ultra politically correct.
