Californians Think Martin Luther King, Jr. Just Died

Author and Political Activist Mark Dice is at it again with his “Man-on-the-Street Monday’s” showing the world how ignorant the public is. Mark is infamous for asking random people on the coast of California what their thoughts are about certain topics and receiving some troubling responses. His latest video consisted of him asking people how they felt about Martin Luther King, Jr. passing away that morning. The responses shown were not what you would expect considering how iconic the Civil Rights leader was.

Mark asks a few people if they will be attending the funeral of MLK and one woman replies, “I definitely won’t be attending, because funerals are very sad”. What is really sad is that a woman appearing to be in her late forty’s, doesn’t realize that MLK was assassinated April 4, 1968, nor does she really care. Another response from a Hispanic male when Mark implies that MLK was the first African-American astronaut and had just passed away was “What can I say? He was a good man, no? And, hope there’s more people like him.” Mark even states that we have come a long way since putting MLK on Mount Rushmore (also completely false) while having another middle-aged woman agree but respond that we still have “a long way” to go. If this is the level of intelligence and ignorance towards the history of United States, then we have marathons to swim in the ocean of intellectual bankruptcy to get back to the shore of elementary knowledge.
