Daily salt intake is not really something to worry about.
Salt does not cause high blood pressure either but that will be a topic for another article.
Most people have been tricked by the American Heart Association into thinking that salt is bad for you. Their propaganda hasn’t worked on animals. They are still licking away and have no high blood pressure.
It is quite interesting that most doctors will warn people about their daily salt intake but give no warning about MSG which is a known toxin to the nervous system and is in most processed foods and restaurant foods. A lot of lobbying goes a long way.
A 10 year study carried out at Emory University School of Medicine was recently published in JAMA Internal Medicine. The study found that daily salt intake did not increase risk for cardiovascular disease or heart failure among older adults who had no previous cardiovascular problems. The study sample was 2,642 adults between the ages of 71 and 80. The sample consisted of 3 groups: 1 group had ¾ of a teaspoon of salt a day, 1 group had 1 teaspoon of salt a day, and the last group had more than 1 teaspoon of salt a day.
The study found that the mortality rate (death rate) was “not significant lower” in the group that had a daily salt intake of ¾ of a teaspoon.
So, the American Heart Association’s (AHA) advice on lowering your daily salt intake has no benefit whatsoever. This should be no surprise because allopathic doctors are not trained in nutrition.
There have also been studies in the past which prove the AHA wrong on their daily salt intake recommendation. In May of 1996, Dr. Alexander Gordon Logan wrote an article that was published in JAMA which found no evidence for the benefit of a low salt diet. He proclaimed, “You might as well salt your food to taste.”
Someone who reduces his or her daily salt intake actually can do damage to his or her health. If someone only consumes around ½ teaspoon a day, they increase their chances of getting a heart attack by 600 percent1. The best salt to consume is Himalayan sea salt or Redmond’s real sea salt which contain minerals. In order to get all the vitamins and minerals you need click here.
Also, salt or sodium chloride is a key ingredient of the gastric acid that digests food in your stomach!
Salting your food to taste will actually improve your digestion! Now that you are ready to go shake that salt shaker it needs to be said that there are 10 bad foods to stay away from which include fried foods, baked potato skins (acrylamide), added nitrates, well done red meat, and oils in bottles.
These are all free radical sources which are way more of a problem for your heart than salt.
