I was asked by a fellow survivalist to explain to all the difference between prepping and hoarding. There is a huge difference that has been misconstrued by the mainstream media and the government.
Prepper food storage, survivalist storing, the Mormon preparedness of 1 years food and other beliefs of this are done pre-disaster. In other words, retreats, food stores and supplies are purchased and stored BEFORE any disaster, civil unrest, foreign army invasion, (we do not have secure borders, so invasion IS easily possible ), or government collapse.
Hoarding is done post event. What I mean is this; We have a 8.8 magnitude earthquake and infrastructure is down. You walk into the store and buy the last 8, 1 gallon water jugs on the shelf along with all the D cell batteries without leaving some for others. Hoarders rate right at the same level as looters with me. If you are reading this blog I hope you are prepared in advance and do not take from the unprepared.
As I said in the first paragraph , approaching this subject was suggested by a fellow survivalist. I have been blogging for more than one month now and would like to know what subjects you would like approached. DO NOT FEEL THERE IS A DUMB QUESTION !! I learn by questions that I don’t know the answer to. Trust me, I get lots of those in my store !! I promise you if you ask me a question I don’t know, the next time you see me I WILL know!! Always feel free to comment with a question or email my website email with one. My email is gijim@gijimsmilitarysurplus.com . Please title it with “Question ” and ask me to either respond on or off the blog. The only questions I will not answer are questions of illegal activity that will make me libel or an accessory .
