Can anyone say stonewalling? Fresno Unified School District has denied the public, i.e. their boss, access to public information. FUSD is a disgrace and this denial is an open admission of their guilt, proving their attempt to bury the focus of the ongoing FBI investigation of the District. They are doing everything in their power to avoid being a transparent public entity even when they receive legitimate Public Records Act requests.
The District’s response to my request for Superintendent Michael Hanson’s credit card statements, as well as a few other documents, at first was an extension request, then –
“The District has determined that your request seeks access to disclosable public records in its possession. However, to the extent that any of the records within the scope of your request are exempt from disclosure, in whole or in part, under one or more applicable exemptions or privileges, the District reserves the right to withhold or redact the records by invoking one or more applicable exemptions or privileges.”

I recently requested Superintendent Michael Hanson’s email correspondence dating back as far as May 2010. Will the District withhold those as well?
